About the role

We are looking for an Automation Software Design Engineer in Filtration Business Line for Metso Outotec. In this position, you would be taking part in managing, improving, and developing industrial filter machine control software and automation systems as well as supporting other business functions. The goal in the development work is to continuously make Metso Outotec's filtration products better and more competitive.

As this position has varietal tasks, it is an interesting challenge for automation software engineers who already have good practical knowledge in machine control systems. It is expected from you that you understand the big picture of these processes, can work independently and you are willing to give your input and ideas to improve the processes. Job duties

  • Be responsible for continuous improvement tasks and development tasks of the product automation software
  • Create and manage product automation documentation, cost structures and design guidelines
  • Take part in automation portfolio management, product strategy development, digitalization and both technical and cost competitiveness of products
  • Give technical support to sales, project engineering, and service
  • Participate in automation networking and co-operation within Metso Outotec

We are looking for

  • Work experience within some process industry, preferably in mineral processing
  • Some hands-on experience in automation programming (e.g. Siemens devices)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to visit customer sites and attending manufacturing workshops (also abroad)
  • Good spoken and written English (Finnish is an advantage)

In addition we see as an benefit if you have know-how of hydraulic systems and/or experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering and with PLM systems.

  • Work extent: permanent, full-time
  • Location: Lappeenranta, remote work possible later on. Frequent travelling is not required but visiting customers is encouraged.
